AUGUSTA, Ga. – There will be no Holiday Roundball Classic this year.
The Richmond County School System announced Friday the cancellation of the basketball tournament due to COVID concerns.
“This tournament is an annual tradition that brings athletes, families and basketball enthusiasts together,” a press release said. “In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, it is safest for our athletes, coaching staff and community that we cancel the tournament this year.”
In years past, tournament play began at local high schools and ended at Paine College’s HEAL Complex.
