Feb. 12: Georgia sees record number of new COVID-19 deaths

Richmond County added 126 new cases for 17,830 and Columbia County added 55 for 10,179. Burke County added nine for 1,617, McDuffie and Jefferson counties each added seven for 1,528 and 1,497 respectively, Screven County added five for 763, Wilkes County added two for 630, Lincoln County added one for 466 and Glascock County dropped one case for 137. Other Augusta area counties remained the same – Jenkins at 693, Warren at 351 and Taliaferro at 93.

Six people died in Richmond County for 312 since the pandemic began and Columbia County added two for 138 bringing the area death toll to 850.

Doctors Hospital of Augusta had 47 in-house patients Saturday, an increase of three. It also added three positive cases to reach 720.

The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 1,835 cases for 423,711 and 15 additional deaths for 7,072. Aiken County added 87 cases for 11,538 and remained at 160 deaths. Edgefield County added 10 cases for 2,232 and remained at 24 deaths.
