RICHMOND COUNTY, Ga. – An investigation is underway, after the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office received a call about skeletal remains discovered in a wooded area off the 3900 block of Wrightsboro Road close to Jimmie Dyess Parkway. The remains were discovered by a person passing by, who stepped into the woods and found the remains. The call came in at 3:18 p.m. Sunday, April 4.
The Crime Scene Unit and investigators were called to investigate the scene. The Coroner’s Office says that the remains will be sent to the GBI lab for a positive identification and to determine the cause of death
