Gwinnett Relay For Life participants show not even COVID-19 can stop battle against cancer

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Heading to the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds Friday night wasn’t something Dacula resident Tia Baxter and her family planned months in advance, but when she heard the Relay For Life of Gwinnett County was happening, she decided to give it a try.

Her mother, Thelma Yarbough, died from liver cancer two years ago so she saw it as a way to honor her. Baxter got her daughters, two of her nieces and their children to join her and they had matching T-shirts made for the event.

The group called themselves “Thelma’s Faves.”
