Georgia reports 6,006 additional coronavirus cases, 145 more deaths

GEORGIA – The Georgia Department of Public Health on Tuesday reported 6,006 additional confirmed cases of COVID-19. Of those cases, 78 were reported in the six Southeast Georgia counties tracked by News4Jax.

As of Tuesday, a total of 648,694 confirmed cases had been reported by the state Department of Public Health.

The agency on Tuesday reported 145 additional confirmed deaths related to COVID-19, including two in Ware County and one in Pierce County, bringing the state’s total to 10,444 confirmed deaths since the start of the pandemic.

According to the state Department of Public Health, 5,737,862 tests have been performed in the state, which had a 10.7% positivity rate, as of Tuesday.

Georgia was reporting a total of 124,998 antigen positive cases and 1,218 “probable” deaths on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, 435 additional hospitalizations were reported, bringing the state’s total to 45,177 since the outbreak began.
