GEORGIA – According to the police officials, this unfortunate incident occurred right after 2 p.m. Thursday.
It happened around mile marker 154 on the westbound side of a rural stretch of the interstate between Norwood and Crawfordville.
A 39-year-old driver was driving a pickup pulling a trailer and lost a tool out of the trailer.
His name is Timothy John Odell Jr. and he pulled over and tried to retrieve the tool from the roadway.
Unfortunately, he was struck by a vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.
