GEORGIA – According to the police officials, the remains of her mother were found on June 3.
Officers responded to the Richmond County residence for a medical call.
When the officers arrived on scene, they found Melissa Lockhard, who had a broken knee.
The 43-year-old woman was hospitalized.
Officers noticed a freshly dug shallow grave in the backyard.
She reportedly said that she did not want her mother taken away from her, or to be subjected to an autopsy.
Police charged Melissa with concealing a death.
