AUGUSTA, Ga. – Georgia Department of Public Health reported 653 COVID-19 cases and one death Sunday for a total of 855,839 cases and 16,749 deaths.
This was a big drop as deaths have been surging in the last week and Georgia has not reported less than 700 new coronavirus since early June 2020.
Georgia’s percent-positive stands at approximately 10.9%.
GDPH reported the following numbers in the Augusta area:
- Richmond County has 19,294 cases, 391 deaths and 1,279 hospitalizations.
- Columbia County has 10,799 cases, 158 deaths and 457 hospitalizations.
- Burke County has 1,728 cases, 35 deaths and 146 hospitalizations.
- McDuffie County has 1,623 cases, 39 deaths and 150 hospitalizations.
- Jefferson County has 1,557 cases, 58 deaths and 151 hospitalizations.
- Screven County has 802 cases, 20 deaths and 64 hospitalizations.
- Jenkins County has 716 cases, 39 deaths and 82 hospitalizations.
- Wilkes County has 667 cases, 19 deaths and 71 hospitalizations.
- Lincoln County has 502 cases, 24 deaths and 50 hospitalizations.
- Warren County has 367 cases, 13 deaths and 46 hospitalizations.
- Glascock County has 143 cases, seven deaths and 18 hospitalizations.
- Taliaferro County has 100 cases, three deaths and eight hospitalizations.
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control reported 632 cases and 13 deaths for a total of 467,016 cases and 8,105 deaths.
No new cases or deaths were reported for Aiken and Edgefield counties.
South Carolina’s percent-positive stands at 3.5%.
