AUGUSTA, Ga. – Two new COVID-19 vaccine clinics are opening in the southern Augusta-area early this week.

Richmond County Public Health Department spokesperson Sadie Stockton said in a news release that the Historic First Ebenezer Baptist Church on Ebenezer Drive in Hephzibah is serving as a clinic on Tuesday, April 20, with walk-ins accepted from 9 to 11 a.m.

Department of Family and Children’s Services on Old Louisville Road in Augusta will administer the vaccine on Wednesday, April 21, for walk-ins from 9:45 to 11:30 a.m.

Both clinics will offer the Moderna vaccine to all Georgia residents older than age 18. Follow-up vaccines will be provided four weeks after the first dose, which would put the second dose being administered May 18-19.

Few coronavirus vaccine clinics are in the southern Augusta-area. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s VaccineFinder tool showed only four clinics at or south of Deans Bridge Road as of Monday afternoon and only three were open.
