Suspect sought after overnight shooting injures 1 in Augusta

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Authorities are looking for a suspect in a shooting that sent one person to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Sunday in the 600 block of Eve Street in the Harrisburg neighborhood.

Richmond County deputies found a male victim that had been shot at least once. He was taken to Augusta University Medical Center.

Officials say the victim was in a vehicle with at least two other people when he was shot. Two male subjects fled the scene on foot.

This morning, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said one of the suspects is Nigel Scott, 20. Authorities released a photo of him.

He is known to frequent South Carolina and the Harrisburg neighborhood, according to deputies. He is considered armed and dangerous and warrants are on file, according to deputies.
